first car come to nepal
Nepal saw its first car only about a 100 years ago. It had been a time when roads were yet to be built. It was the Ranas who brought home this terrific technology. But, for about 50 years, most Nepalis didn't own a car as it was against the law. Simply members of the Rana families and their friends enjoyed that privilege.
By the Vintage Car Expo, I gawked at a stunning 1971 Volkswagen beetle car, as other enthusiastic onlookers took out their selfie sticks to cause in front of it. The expo also shown (inside the Nepal Skill Council) a painting of the first car that was delivered to Nepal, the dismantled parts carried by porters with the mountain tops of Bhimphedi and Thankot. About one hundred protégers were involved, and it is believed that it was a German-made Mercedes. It was the start of car stories for Nepal, although it belonged exclusively to the Ranas.
But, it's funny the way you have forgotten about these historical cars that made the best way for the luxurious cars we own today. Where are the first cars of Nepal? Who also brought them? How do transportation commence in Nepal?
This is where NATIONAL AERONAUTICS AND SPACE ADMINISTRATION (NASA), FIA, and Vintage and Classic Motor Union Nepal come in. "Every Dashain, Nepalis worship their vehicles; we have an intangible reference to our voyages, and that is what we should want to build up through the Vintage Car Expo. An awareness that our vehicles are not merely means of transportation, but an integral part of our stories, a part of our history, a part of our development. We assume that if we archive and document the historical cars of Nepal, we probably will be able to establish yet another value for travel in Nepal, " says Govinda Bhattarai, the basic secretary of NASA.
Once we consider the upkeep of artifacts and history, we are indifferent to the historical old vehicles that are as much a part of our valuable history, just as our monuments are. These types of classic vehicles tell a story that belongs to them, they document a timeframe of how vehicles and vehicles came to be in Nepal.
Bhattarai continues, "UNESCO considers automobiles that are as old as 40 years to be a part of our history, and such antiques need to be preserved. Countries about the world have been curating old cars, and are storage the histories behind these cars. For us, this is merely the beginning. This kind of expo is an understanding effort towards that target. This is our second season, and we aspire to do it every season, so that folks understand the value of archiving and curating these historical cars. inch
The thought itself is very novel to Nepal. Once a car's electricity is over, it is sold to junk retailers, and following that, the history of the car adopts oblivion. This is what has been happening in Nepal. Vintage and Basic Motor Union Nepal has been planning to accumulate old historical cars, and exploring old historical cars of Nepal, nevertheless the difficulties are innumerable. However, source and the real owner of the cars already curated has remained an unknown. That kicks off in august 2016, the business, with NASA, is planning to bring out a booklet of old automobiles in Nepal. Perhaps this will instigate an understanding outdated cars are valuable.
In general, the Vintage Car Expo held in May well for three days was a successful event. City Aviation Minister Bala Bahadur Mahat, who inaugurated the expo, requested all everyone present to take responsibility to shield old and historical vehicles, and promised his own participation in their preservation. The expo experienced organized a vintage typical motor and Bullet motor bike rally on the first day that started from the Nepal Scouts chemical substance and headed towards Kupondol and Jawalakhel, before terminating at Babar Mahal.
