Gautama Buddha Biography



Gautama Buddha was a psychic leader on whose instruction Buddhism was founded. This individual is believed to have lived in eastern India/ Nepal during the sixth to 4th century N. C. Born as a prince, he spent his childhood in the run of luxury. He lost his mother at an early age and his doting father tried his best to keep his young son away from miseries of the world. Childhood & Early Life


Many details regarding Gautama Buddha's early life are engulfed in mystery. He is believed to have recently been born in Lumbini (today, modern Nepal) in the 6th century B. C. His birth name was Siddhartha Gautama and this individual was born as a prince. His father, Ruler Suddhodana, was leader of a sizable clan called the Shakya and his mom was Queen Maya. His mother died shortly after his birth.

When Siddhartha was a son, discovered seers prophesized that the boy would either be a great king or military leader or he would be a great religious leader. These sights amazed him as he acquired no prior knowledge about the concepts of sickness, retirement years, death, and asceticism. The charioteer explained to him that sickness, increasing age and death were a part and parcel of life, and that some individuals renounce their worldly life in order to seek answers to questions regarding human sufferings.

Siddhartha was very troubled after seeing these sights. The richness of palace life no longer interested him and he realized that this individual previously to seek the ultimate truth.
