Nepal India Border Issue

The Territorial disputes of India and Nepal include a number of areas and regions. A large number of Indians claim the Madhesh/Terai region of Southern Nepal which has historically recently been inhabited by Indian dialect speakers like Maithilis, Bhojpuris and Awadhis. The region was ruled by 3rd party Kings prior to British emerged and gifted the land to the dominion of Nepal. There is presently a secessionist movement within the Terai led by CK Raut called the Alliance for Independent Madhesh.

Kalapani: Nepal claims that the river to the west of Kalapani is the key Kali river, hence it belongs to Nepal.Yet India insists that the river to the east of Kalapani is the key Kali river. The riv borders the Nepalese region of Mahakali and the Indian state of Uttarakhand. The Sugauli Treaty authorized by Nepal and United kingdom India on 4 Drive 1816 discovers the Kali River as Nepal's western boundary with India. Subsequent maps sketched by British surveyors show the supply of the border river at different places. This discrepancy in finding the source of the river led to border disputes between India and Nepal, with each country producing maps supporting their own claims. The Saat River runs through an area which includes a disputed area of about 400 km? around the source of the water although the exact size the disputed area is different from source to source. Kalapani has been manipulated by India's Indo-Tibetan boundary security forces since the Sino-Indian War with China and tiawan in 1962.
