Gayatri Mantra
The G yatri Mantra, also called the S? vitr? rule, is a highly adored mantra from the Machine Veda (Mandala 3. sixty two. 10), dedicated to Savitr, the Sun deity. G? yatr? is the name of the Vedic m where the verse is constructed. Its recitation is usually preceded by o? and the formula bh? ur bhuva? sva?, known as the mah? vy? they would? ti, or "great (mystical) utterance".
The Gayatri rule is cited widely in Vedic and post-Vedic text messaging, including the mantra listings of the? rauta liturgy, and classical Hindu texts including the Bhagavad Gita, Harivamsa, and Manusm? ti. It is the subject of clever treatment and explanation in some major Upanishads, and is also referred to in the Buddhist Pali Canon.
The concept is an important part of the upanayana ceremony for young males in Hinduism, and has long recently been recited by dvija men within their daily motions. Modern Hindu reform moves spread the practice of the concept to include women and all horde and its use is now very widespread
