About Brown University
Found in historic Providence, Rhode Isle and founded in 1764, Brown University is the seventh-oldest college or university in the United States. Brown is an independent, coeducational Flowers League institution comprising undergrad and graduate programs, in addition to the Alpert Medical School, Institution of Public Health, College of Engineering, and the School of Professional Research.
Undergraduates pursue bachelor's deg in more than 75 concentrations, ranging from Egyptology to cognitive neuroscience. Anything's possible at Brown--the university's commitment to undergraduate liberty means students must take responsibility as architects with their courses of review.
Brown University has fifty-one doctoral programs and twenty-eight master's programs. The wide scope of options fluctuate from interdisciplinary opportunities in molecular pharmacology and physiology to a master's program in acting and leading through the Brown/Trinity Repertory Consortium.
Additional programs are the Undergraduate Summer Session and Pre-College Programs for students -- on campus, online, and abroad.
Brown is generally recognized for their global reach, many ethnic events, numerous campus organizations and activities, active community service programs, highly competitive athletics, and beautiful facilities positioned in a richly ancient urban setting.
