Who may be Shiva: Man, Myth or Divine?

Who is Shiva? Many stories and tales surround this most visible figure of Indian psychic traditions. Is he a god? Or maybe a myth created from Hindu culture's group imagination? Or do they offer a deeper so this means to Shiva, revealed only to those who seek?
